2023 - Idiomatismi e discorso politico: fraseologismi nei programmi e comizi dei partiti populisti tedeschi per la campagna elettorale tedesca del 2021 [Capitolo/Saggio]

Il discorso politico nelle sue varie forme ed espressioni è caratterizzato dall’uso di espressioni idiomatiche la cui funzione principale sembra essere quella di concentrare l’attenzione sugli aspetti emozionali del discorso. Nel linguaggio dei partiti populisti, sia di destra che di sinistra, i fraseologismi vengono frequentemente usati per presentare e supportare idee e programmi nel tentativo di attirare votanti e mantenere viva la loro attenzione su alcune tematiche (si pensi ad esempio alla crisi migratoria, alla pandemia di COVID-19). All’interno di questo contesto, il presente contributo si prefigge lo scopo di analizzare l’uso e la funzione dei fraseologismi di diversa tipologia nei programmi e nei comizi elettorali dei partiti populisti di destra, l’Alternative für Deutschland, e di sinistra, DIE LINKE, durante il periodo della campagna elettorale per le elezioni fede- rali tedesche del 2021. Dall’analisi emerge che l’immediatezza e l’intelligibilità delle espressioni idiomatiche conferiscono enfasi al testo e contribuiscono alla comprensione di un determinato messaggio astratto, oltre che a connotare negativamente l’avversario.

Since its entry into politics, the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) has programmatically positioned itself against the ‘old parties’ and against a political ‘oligarchy’ which, in the party’s view, holds the power for decision-making. This clear stance against a supposedly secret collective is a recurring theme in the party’s communication, which appears to indicate that this position against the established decision makers is of fundamental importance for the party’s identity formation. Based on this, the article will describe some of the terminology used by the AfD for its anti-hegemonic identity profiling. The article will also examine whether the conspiratorial tone echoing in these statements is also present in the content of the campaign communications.

Globale Gesundheitskrisen wie die Corona-Pandemie sind für die Menschen Unsicherheit auslösende, abstrakte und schwer greifbare Gefahrensituationen, die zugleich konkrete und direkt spürbare Konsequenzen und Auswirkungen mit sich bringen. In der heutigen Medienkonstellation, die durch eine nahezu unkontrollierbare Zahl aktiver Nutzerinnen und Nutzer gekennzeichnet ist, bilden solche Situationen den fruchtbaren Rahmen für die Verbreitung einer ungezügelten Nachrichtenmasse, in der neben wahrheitsgemäßen und relevanten Informationen auch Desinformationen verbreitet werden, die sich oft als Nährboden für stigmatisierende und verschwörungstheoretische Inhalte erweisen. Auf der Grundlage einer Untersuchung der meistverbreiteten Sozialen Medien zielt dieser Beitrag darauf ab, die konspirativen Elemente der Covid-19-Kommunikation in Deutschland und Italien zu analysieren und dabei insbesondere das Vorhandensein der immer wiederkehrenden antisemitischen Züge zu erheben, die für Verschwörungstheorien kennzeichnend zu sein scheinen.

Electoral turnout figures reveal that in recent years young voters have shown a strong disaffection with politics, which could be explained by the increasing lack of communication between them and the political class. By examining some strategies adopted by German politicians to approach young people and by addressing the characteristics of young people’s language, the paper will first focus on an interview with Angela Merkel by woman YouTuber Ischtar Isik. To ascertain whether the language used in the interview by this young influencer truly represents her usual way of speaking, a second document will be analysed, in which Ischtar, this time as interviewee, deals with general topics. Conclusions will be drawn based on the data resulting from the comparison between the two interviews.

Der Artikel analysiert die Metaphernverwendung im Steuer- und Immigrationsdiskurs bei der AfD wie der Lega. Er zeigt auf, wie in den Kommunikaten beider Parteien Metaphern dazu verwendet werden, bestimmte Wertvorstellungen zu aktivieren. Statt mit politisch zu beurteilenden Sachverhalten werden die Rezipient*innen auf diese Weise eher mit einem moralischen System konfrontiert.

Negation is a complex phenomenon, which, by applying different strategies, can involve either whole propositions (sentence negation) or only parts of them (phrase negation). The use of negation not only makes it possible to determine the positive or negative polarity of an utterance, but allows also to perform communicative acts such as rejecting, correcting, refusing, contradicting, lying or ironizing. In German negation basically has two realization possibilities, which are achieved by negating the predicate (negation with nicht) or a nominal element of the sentence (negation with kein). Other ways of competing with these main strategies are morphological, idiomatic and prosodic negation.

Il saggio presenta una riflessione sull'uso esteso che nella prima fase pandemica del COVID-19 si è fatto della metafora bellica. L'istanza metaforica bellica non si è dimostrata prerogativa di un singolo paese o di un determinato colore politico, poiché vi si è fatto ricorso in maniera globale e trasversale. L'uso di questa metafora concettuale diventa ancora più interessante, se si considera che il virus e la malattia sono di per sé domini concettuali che abitualmente ricorrono essi stessi come metafore.

Persuasion is the central element of political propaganda of all times. From a historical point of view, it is a fact that, especially in conflict situations, the hegemonic actors adopt specific techniques and language choices for purposes of propaganda. The question of interest is in what ways and to what extent they are used in a targeted manner in order to influence different types of low- and middle-class audiences. A well-documented example is the persuasive use of language in Nazi propaganda before and during World War II. In this context, our question is whether past and present-day propagandistic and electoral campaigns make recourse to the same linguistic devices and strategies in order to persuade their intended audience. To this purpose, we shall concentrate on Hitler’s propaganda by primarily drawing on Victor Klemperer's (1933–1945) diaries and compare his linguistic observations to a corpus of campaigning speeches and programs by the German right-wing populist party AfD (Alternative für Deutschland).

The aim of this article is to describe the syntactic behavior of the German particle nicht in the context of sentence negation. As known from the didactics of GFL, the negation of propositions with a more complex syntactic midfield is difficult to cope with. The positioning of nicht causes difficulties even for advanced learners, since the rule of its tending to the end of the proposition turns out to be inappropriate, as the negation particle must give way not only to the elements of the sentence bracket, but also to other constituents, even if these cannot be regarded directly as part of the right bracket. So, the question arises whether and how such a positional variance can be conveyed in a comprehensible and simple way, because, despite his complexity, the descrip-tion of this phenomenon cannot be confined exclusively to a higher level of language acquisi-tion, as from the very beginning there is a need for learners to express themselves not only in agreement but also in rejection.

Europaweit wird die zeitgenössische politische Debatte stark von der Präsenz rechtspopulistischer Parteien charakterisiert, die durch Provokation, Tabubrüche und Skandalisierungen das Agenda-Setting beeinflussen. Im sprachlichen Handeln dieser Parteien lassen sich bestimmte Merkmale identifiziert, die sie vereinen. So zum Beispiel der Rekurs auf das Volk und die Frontstellung gegen die gesellschaftlichen Eliten. Durch diese Strategien erzielen die Populisten die Ausgrenzung gegenüber den herkömmlichen Parteien und die Konstituierung eines mehr oder weniger expliziten Wir-Ihr-Schemas. Anhand der vergleichenden Analyse zweier ad hoc zusammengestellter Korpora möchte der vorgeschlagene Beitrag die Ausgrenzungsstrategien der AfD (Deutschland) und der Lega Nord (Italien) veranschaulichen, beschreiben und eventuelle Kontakt- und Kontrastpunkte hervorheben.

Korrelative Konnektoren wie beispielsweise einerseits/andererseits, sowohl/als auch, zwar/aber usw. finden sich zahlreich in wissenschaftlichen Texten. Sie fungieren als Kohärenzmarker und sind ein Hinweis auf den hohen Ausbaugrad der verwendeten Sprache. Aus der Perspektive der Rezeption handelt es sich dabei um sprachliche Formulierungsmuster mit hohem kognitivem Anspruchsgehalt. Dies gilt insbesondere für Studierende, wenn sie sich das Verständnis komplexer fremdsprachiger Texte aneignen und ihrerseits wiederum wissenschaftliches Schreiben in der Studiensprache erlernen wollen bzw. müssen. Das vorliegende Projekt geht der Frage nach, ob und inwieweit sich in den schriftlichen Arbeiten (Tesine) italienischer Studierender am Gebrauch korrelativer Konrektoren der Entwicklungsgrad ihrer produktiven Textkompetenz ablesen lässt.

Negation is a cognitive category and a complex linguistic operation, which can be found in every human language. Therefore it could be argued that the didactics of German as a foreign language does not need to focus particularly on this topic, thanks to the learner’s pre-existing knowledge. As a matter of fact a foreign language learner already knows, understands and uses negation efficiently, because he already experiences its potential in his mother tongue. Error analyses contradict this hypothesis, detecting misuse of negation even in students with an advanced level of the language competence. The aim of this paper is to give an inventory of how negation is handled in grammar books, determining whether and in what way they describe some typical negation strategies employed by the German language. The analysis is focused principally on grammars used in GFL-courses for Italian learners.
